Mahila Dakshata Samiti (MDS) is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-sectarian organization registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. Established 38 years ago by a group of enlightened and educated women, MDS is dedicated to promoting the welfare of women and children in India.
MDS’s mission revolves around empowering women through education and various support services. The organization believes that educating and empowering women is essential for the progress of society as a whole. They run educational institutions with hostel facilities, catering specifically to girls from economically disadvantaged and rural backgrounds in Chandanagar, Hyderabad. These institutions help students, including orphans, those with single parents, and those from families of agricultural laborers and daily wage earners in Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, continue their education and pursue their dreams.
